In Memorium
Due to complications that can be presented by Angelman Syndrome, there are families in Aotearoa NZ who have faced the tragedy of losing a loved one.
These family members are never forgotten; we celebrate their lives and remember them in this gallery. We also honour them each year on Feb 15th, as we observe International Angelman Day.
We Remember them
“What we have enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply
becomes a part of us.” – Helen Keller
Suzanne Austin (1980-2002)
Elijah Humphries (2003-2007)
Oliver Lowry McWilliams (1966-2012)
Felicia Porter (1994 - 2017)
Kirsteen (1998 - 2023)
Charlotte Story (2004 - 2023)
Hugo Johnston (2021 - 2025)

In loving memory of Hugo
Four years ago, Hugo arrived in the world and filled the lives of his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him with so much joy.
His laughter, warmth, and spark touched countless hearts in his short but precious time with us.
Dunedin: 2021 - 2025

In loving memory of Kirsteen
Kirsteen brought so much love and joy into everyone she met. She was the light that made the world feel brighter, colours seemed to shine so much more. Her smile and laugh were always able to make hard days seem so much better. Kirstee, we miss you every day, but there is a sense of peace knowing you fly with the angels.
We love you always and forever.
Christchurch: 1998 -2023

In loving memory of Charlotte
Always such a joy to be around, Charlotte would light up the room when ever she came in.
We dearly miss her so much; her beautiful smile and giggles.
Fly high our darling Angel.
Christchurch: 2004 - 2023

In loving memory of Felicia
Felicia's life was cut short by cancer. She lived her life to the fullest, supported by a loving extended family and community of carers.
Felicia and her family were avid supporters of The Angelman Network and regular participants at our fundraiser events and family gatherings around the Auckland region. Her bright smile and sociable personality will be greatly missed.
Pukekohe: 1994 - 2017

In loving memory of Oliver
“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heavens: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance….” Ecclesiastes Ch3
Orewa: (46yrs) 1966 - 2012

In loving memory of Elijah

Fly where only angels sing
Fly away, the time is right
Go now, find the light
